The Siuslaw Bridge was completed in 1936 and Florence became an important stop for Highway 101 travelers.

A popular, diverse and rich "playground" destination, Florence is fortunately situated amid the Oregon Dunes and Siltcoos Recreation areas, providing a
host of outdoor activities.

Florence is located midstate along US Highway 101 on the Oregon Coast where the Siuslaw River meets the Pacific Ocean after a journey adjacent to a scenic highway and past the sand dunes. Oregon Highway 126 leads to Florence from Eugene, Oregon's second largest city.
